Who is the most memorable female fighting characters in video games history? I think there are a lot of possible answer for this question. But if i have to choose one, i will Chun Li as the answer. Chun Li is one of playable character who first introduced in Capcom’s Street Fighters II at 1991. One of the most memorable movement of this character is her lightning kicks (Hyakuretsu Kyaku) and spinning bird kicks. Chun-Li is come from China, and she learn a lot of martial arts since childhood, such as Chinese Kempo, Tai Chi, Sanda, Tae Kwon Do, Karate and Capoeira. Chun Li also recognized as hottest and sexiest female character in fighting video game. So, it would be interesting to see how Chun Li cosplay looks like. As one of Blackberry users, i certainly curious about how great the new Blackberry (Blackberry 10) that just launched in England, couple days ago (January 31, 2013). I believe, this would be a final chance for Research in Motion Limited that just change name into Blackberry to survive in gadget industry, after suffered greatly for the last 5 years. Blackberry stock has been declining for the last 4 years since it reach highest value at June 2008. The lack of innovation and the popularity of Apple and Android gadget are the reason why a lot of users began to leave Blackberry as their primary gadget.

I personally feel that the old Blackberry is nothing compared to iOS and Android gadget. The only reason why i still use Blackberry is its Messenger Application, Blackberry Messenger (BBM). BBM still dominate in Indonesia as number one messenger application beating Yahoo Messenger and WhatsApp Messenger. So it’s interesting to see what Blackberry 10 can do to make Blackberry survive in market for the next 5 years.

Couple days ago, the latest Blackberry gadget that use Blackberry OS 10 finally launched. The following is the video of Z10 and Q10 smartphones launch highlights.

Blackberry 10 Features

Everything in BlackBerry 10 is really designed from scratch. So, BlackBerry 10 is not just a rebuild or remake version of the old Blackberry. This product is really a brand new product. Blackberry OS 10 itself is built on QNX core program (kernel). The kernel is also used in the automotive industry, nuclear power to military aircraft. As Thorsten Heins (Blackberry CEO) said, Blackberry 10 a lot of features that will give new experience to the users, such as :

• New version of BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) that make the users can do video call, video chat and screen sharing.
• Faster internet browsing and social media integrated system to BBM, Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin.
• Blackberry HUB that make users can perform multi tasking and running 8 applications at the same time.
• Blackberry Balance that allow users to separate the functions of smartphones for work and personal use. So the applications inside the smartphone can be distinguished.
• Virtual keyboard that claimed better than all virtual keyboard in other smartphone.
• The battery that can be replaced, when the indicator is showing “low battery” status.
• The support of 70 thousand applications developed by famous developer such as Rovio, Disney, Foursquare, Cisco, dan Skype that are available for download from Blackberry App World.

Blackberry Z10 or Q10?

There are two choice Blackberry 10 product that released on the market. The first one is the touch screen version, Blackberry Z10 and the second one is QWERTY keyboard version, Blackberry Q10.

Blackberry Z10

This version is very similar to Apple iPhone. Z10 is a full touch screen Blackberry that packed with display size of 4.2 inch (0.2 inch wider than iPhone 5). The screen has 4 point multi-touch capabilities IPS LCD display with 1280×768 resolution and 356 ppi.

Z10 reinforced with dual core 1.5 GHz processor, 2 GB RAM and 16 GB of flash for storage media. It’s also supports NFC technology for mobile payment services, file exchange and connectivity 4G LTE and HSPA+. For the camera, Z10 is embedded with 2MP front camera and 8MP rear camera. Blackberry Z10 can also last for 10 hours talk time, thanks to the new 1800 mAh Li-ion battery.

Z10 has been released in England last thursday (January 31, 2013). Canada will be the next country that will get the product. Blackberry will release Z10 in Canada tomorrow (February 4, 2013). And the United Arab Emirates as one of the most important markets will get BlackBerry Z10 on February 10, 2013. Meanwhile in the United States of America, it’s will be available on March 2013.

If we see the BB 10 specification, it’s also similar to two world best selling gadget, Samsung Galaxy S III and Apple iPhone 5. The only difference is only the RAM. Blackberry Z10 and Q10 use 2 GB RAM, meanwhile Galaxy S III and iPhone 5 use only 1 GB RAM.

Blackberry Q10

You have to wait until April 2013 to buy this product. The specifications of BlackBerry Q10 is actually not much different from Z10. The difference is more to physical side, Q10 is equipped with touch screen and QWERTY keyboard like the old Blackberry Bellagio. The screen will be 3.1 inch Super AMOLED display with 720 x 720 screen resoultion 360 ppi. Q10 weighs a little heavier than Z10 (only 4 grams difference).

What makes Q10 unique is the back of the phone. It’s created from glass weave material, a new type of material that claimed thinner, lighter and stronger than plastic.

Screen Q10 – initially predicted named X10 – has 3.1 inch Super AMOLED dispay with 720×720 resolution 360 ppi. Q10 weighs a little heavier than the Z10, which is 139 grams.

Both Blackberry 10 gadget (Z10 and Q10) has similar specification. The only difference is only the screen size and QWERTY keyboard.

Mac OS X is an OS that is highly optimized in performance. That’s one of the reason why i love Mac. Even there are some weakness compared to Windows operating system, i still prefer using Mac OS X for my daily works. The combination of aesthetic and minimalist design of the operating system make the user can use Mac for hours without problems. Although it has been optimized, the Mac can sometimes be slow because of several things. The following will be given some tips for optimizing the performance of Mac OS X.

1. Clean Desktop

By leaving files and folders on the desktop, it will directly give a workload when you want to display the screen. Indirectly, this process will slows down computer performance, even only a little. Make a folder called “Archive” and keep all the files and folder to the Archive folder.

Displaying Hard Disk icon (Macintosh HD) on the desktop will not help much for your activity. You can hide it from your Desktop by opening Finder Preferences and turn off all the “Show these items on the deskop“.

2. Check your Login Items

A major factor that cause slow startup on your Mac is the number of startup item during login. Check the startup items by going to System Preferences > Accounts > Login Items and remove unwanted applications that running at startup. It’s recommended to limit under 6 items for optimal performance.

3. Delete Not Used Applications

Try to check the applications already installed on your computer. Sometimes there are some applications that works in background and increase the workload of your computer. Uninstall application that are not used for long time with App Cleaner.

 4. Limit the Usage of Widget

I did not activate Dashboard, because each widgets installed would consume memory resource. But sometimes widgets can simplify workflow processes. So my advice is to limit the use or turn off Dashboard widget if it is not needed.

To turn off the dashboard, run the Terminal application (search with Spotlight) and enter this command :

defaults write com.apple.dashboard MCX-disabled-boolean YES && killall Dock

To turn on your Dashboard again, you can enter:

defaults write com.apple.dashboard MCX-disabled-boolean NO killall Dock &&

5. Use Activity Monitor

You do not need other application to monitor RAM, memory and others. Just with the Activity Monitor, you can monitor all of the above. Find out which processes are running on your computer by default and check which processes are wasting your memory resources.

6. Periodic Maintenance

Make sure to check your hard drive periodically. Delete all data you don’t use. Leave some space in your hard drive, so the index of Spotlight will be run faster. It’s also recommended to do maintenance every 1-2 months by using Mountain Lion Cache Cleaner or third party application like Onyx.

When some countries are welcoming Valentine’s Day, chinese people are busy preparing their most important day of the year, which is the 年节 Lunar New Year (Chinese New Year). In China, it also known as 春节 Spring Festival. The derivative term of it is 过年, which mean “pass the year”. I myself as a descendant of chinese people, even though I live in Indonesia, I also celebrate the chinese new year festivities every year. Chinese new year is the moment when we usually gather as family together. In my house, i also have a tradition to pray to my ancestors by offering food and fruit in a table. This is a form of respect to our ancestors. Beside those two activity, there are still a lot of tradition we usually do during chinese new year.

Along with the development of technology, many people start to leave this tradition. To provide some enlightenment, i would like to share with you about what tradition we usually do during Chinese New Year and the meaning of each activity for our life.

How Long Chinese New Year Celebrations Will Last?

Chinese New Year celebrations traditionally ran from Chinese New Year’s Day itself (the first day of the first month of the Chinese calendar) to the Lantern Festival on the (15th day of the first month).

What Tradition We Usually Do For Chinese New Year Celebration?

There are some tradition we usually do before the chinese new year coming, such as :

- Buy a new clothing

It’s some kind of tradition that we have to buy a new clothes before chinese new year. According to the belief, we must wear the new clothes on the first day of the Lunar New Year. This is for the sake of hope and a new spirit.

- Clean the House

We usually clean the house around 15 days before the lunar new year. The meaning of this activity is to sweep away any ill-fortune and make way for good incoming luck.

– Decorate The House with lampion, red color paper cuts and couplets

We usually decorate our house with chinese new year decoration items, such as lampion, red color paper cuts, any many others. We also place a upside down couplets in front the door of our house. The word we usually use is 福 (Fu) which means blessing for happiness, wealth and longevity.

- Serving Foods and Fruits to Our Ancestors

One tradition we usually to do is serve some foods and fruits to our ancestors. This is a form of respect and gratitude to our ancestors. Because of them, we can come in this world. Unfortunately, currently there are many people from certain religion consider this activity as satanic activity.

- Eat together with family on the eve of Chinese New Year

It’s a tradition that we have to have dinner together (除夕) with family on the eve of chinese new year. The meaning of 除夕 itself is evening of the passing.

– Receive a red paper envelopes (Angbao)

In the morning on chinese new year, we usually greet each other in our family and wish for healthy and happy new year. After that, the parents usually give their children, nephew, niece and grandchildren money in a red paper envelopes called 红包 angbao (in china, it called hongbao). It’s symbolizes good luck and is supposed to ward off evil spirits.

The people who must give angbao is them who already get married. And the people who receive angbao is them who haven’t get married.

- Visiting Friends and Relatives

One of regular activity during Chinese New Year is visiting friends and relatives. One of my routine every Chinese New Year is visiting our family in other city. We usually use chinese new year as a moment where we can keep contact and close to our family. This moment usually is the time the children waiting for, because they will get a lot of angbao (red paper envelope) when visiting people.

- New Year Cake

New Year Cake (年糕) is also identical to Chinese New Year. The cake made of sticky rice and sugar is sweet and chewy. ​​This cake usually place in a basket. The presence of New Year Cake means that we hope for increasingly prosperous year in year out.

- Lion Dance

Lion dance (舞狮) performance is identical to the Lunar New Year. In my country, it well known as Barongsai. Lion is believed as sacred animal that can ward off the evil spirits. Lion dance is operated by two people and most of the movement is based on chinese martial arts.

Yesterday, i just watched new Disney’s animation movie titled Wreck It Ralph. This movie set in the world of arcade game, where every characters in the arcade can interact each other when the games are not played by human. This interaction of course involve a lot of the characters from various video game titles. From all characters who appears, some of them are fiction character, which means that the characters were never exist before this movie released. But some of them are real characters that appear in several real video game titles. Of course, the film will be weird and boring if we don’t see some video game characters we recognized in the movie. That makes the director of the movie pick several characters from famous video games to be cameo in this film. For me, it’s really fun to see some legendary characters in the movie, because it made me reminisce with my childhood when i play those games. After i check and examine the entire movie, i finally got the list of all of  video game characters that appear in the movie. The following are all real video game characters that appear in Wreck It Ralph movie.

Ryu – Street Fighter

Ryu appears four times in the film. His first appearance is in fighting scene with Ken Master in Street Fighters II game. After that he appears again walking when Wreck It Ralph is talking with Bartender in Tapper bar. He appears again when Ralph is searching something in the box. In credit on the end of the film, he appears again in Street Fighter II bonus stage with Wreck It Ralph.

He only appear in fighting scene with Ken Master in Street Fighters II game.

Zangief – Street Fighter

He appears during the session on support group for video game antagonists. His pants also appears again when Wreck it Ralph is searching something in the box at Tapper Bar.

Since several weeks ago, i has been enjoying myself by playing NDS game called Donkey Kong: Jungle Climber. Yes … From the title, all of you must already know, this game is one of three Donkey Kong game which was released for Nintendo DS. Talking about one of this Nintendo’s mascot is actually have made quite an interesting history to scrutiny. Even not as popular as Mario, Donkey Kong is one of the oldest and the most consistent character that always appear in every Nintendo platform. I also enjoyed play Donkey Kong on NES and Donkey Kong Country on SNES. Therefore this time I’ll try to covered all things about Donkey Kong. Let’s see about the history first.

How Donkey Kong created?

Donkey Kong character created by Shigeru Miyamoto, the creator of the legendary Mario Brothers and Zelda series. Donkey Kong itself could be regarded as the first successful character made by Miyamoto in his career in the world of gaming.

Donkey Kong’s character creation occurs after Shigeru Miyamoto got a task from Nintendo to renovate a game called Radar Scope that has a poor outcome to be a quality game.

This Radar Scope’s hardware then has been used by Miyamoto to create first Donkey Kong game.

In 1981, Falcon created a legitimate clone of Donkey Kong known as Crazy Kong. Donkey Kong Brand itself has a copyright issue problem, because MCA Universal ever sued Nintendo for Donkey Kong’s figures that is very similar to King Kong. Universal ultimately unsuccessful claim anything from Nintendo, because apparently the Universal did not own the copyright to King Kong either.

The games have been developed by a variety of developers including Nintendo, Rare, Namco and Paon. Most of Donkey Kong games developed by Nintendo. Since the first Donkey Kong game released for arcade in 1981, there are more 20 games released after that. Donkey Kong series is among the best-selling video game franchises with over 49 million games sold worldwide. Donkey Kong Country 2 : Diddy’s Kong Quest

Second Donkey Kong game developed by Rareware and become the sequel of first Donkey Kong Country. This time, Donkey Kong can’t be played as playable character, because he was kidnapped by King K. Rool. The main character of this game are Diddy Kong and his girlfriends Dixie Kong. Together, they travel and take some adventures in Crocodile Isle to save Donkey Kong from Kremling Krew. This game offers more level and more detailed graphic than the first game. DKC2 also offers many hidden bonus stages with collectible tokens (Kremcoins) and rare DK coins.

Rool to steal banana hoard once again.There were four worlds in this game, all brand new but some of the level adapted from Donkey Kong Country world.

Both of them must discover the location where Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong missing on fishing trip. Meanwhile, Kremling Krew return to stealing the banana once again. Unlike the previous game, the game feature sea adventures theme.

This game developed based on Donkey Kong Country 2, but with more simple graphic design and levels. It was enchanced for Super Gameboy with different shades of color. They have to save Donkey Kong from King K. Rool and Kremling Krew.

Each world contains several race tracks, an unlockable battle stage and a race against a boss character.

The songs in this game picked from several Nintendo Games like Mario series, Legend of Zelda series, and other Nintendo music.

The gameplay of this game involves combat, jumping and counterattacking. The gameplay quite unique, because you move Donkey Kong by DK Bongos. Hitting the left drum make DK move to left, while hitting the right drum make DK move to the right. Hitting both of drum will make DK jump. Clapping one hand or hitting sides of drum will make DK to clap. The goal of this game is to get as many point as you can.

Mario vs Donkey Kong

Mario who work on the factory tried to get back the toys by chasing Donkey Kong. This game is a combination of Donkey Kong Arcade version and Super Mario Bros 2. The gameplay itself offers some puzzle elements challenging Mario to find keys, reach the unlocked door and rescue mini Marios. The control similar to Donkey Kong Gameboy version. Mario have an ability to perform handstands and backflip.

Donkey Kong King of Swing

This is a new Donkey Kong game that offer new gameplay that never seen before. In the game, players swing around on pegs.The character uses pegs to swing to the end of levels instead of using traditional platforming methods. The story of the game is about the Jungle Jam Tournament. The tournament has been held to determine who will be the jungle hero. King K. Rool steals the medals, prizes in the competition, and proclaims himself the jungle hero. In this game, player will control either Donkey Kong or Diddy Kong, to track down King K. Rool and the stolen medals. There are total 5 worlds separated in 20 levels and 5 boss levels in this game.

Donkey Konga 3 : Tabe-houdai! Haru Mogitate 50 Kyoku

To navigate the level, player must hold down L and R to jump, and press between L and R to hold and let go of pegs on every stage. Player will take control of Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong. The gameplay is similar to Donkey Kong Country series. There will be mine chart level, swinging game, collecting banana and coins. The main difference this game compared to previous Donkey Kong Country series is the enemy. The antagonist is not filled by Kremling anymore. It replaced by Tiki.

His adventures continue with his buddies Diddy Kong and Dixie Kong in Donkey Kong Country. Since Donkey Kong Country, he must face his rival King K. Roll who lead his Kremling Krew to steal Banana from Donkey Kong Island.

Cranky Kong

He’s the father of Donkey Kong who always complaining and give advice for Donkey Kong. Although it has been in controversy, but Rare (developer of Donkey Kong Country series) state that Cranky Kong is the same Donkey Kong who battle with Mario in Donkey Kong Arcade. On his youth, he kidnapped Pauline and must battle with Mario who tried to save her. But based on some Nintendo official materials later, the characters who fight with Mario in the first Donkey Kong game is Donkey Kong, not Cranky Kong. His first appearance is on Donkey Kong Country as Cranky Kong, the eldest who usually give some advice for Donkey Kong.

Diddy Kong

The name Diddy is a slang word used in some parts of northern England for “small”. He is the second playable character in the first Donkey Kong Country game. He help Donkey Kong to defeat King K. Rool who stealed bananas from Donkey Kong Island. Then, he appears again in Donkey Kong Country 2 : Diddy’s Kong Quest as the main playable character accomponied by Dixie Kong on search mission of Donkey Kong after he kidnapped by King K. Rool. He then saved by Dixie Kong and Kiddie Kong. After Donkey Kong Country series, Diddy Kong appear in several games like Diddy Kong Racing, Donkey Kong 64, Donkey Kong Land, etc. Diddy Kong is Donkey Kong’s nephew

Dixie Kong

First Appearance : Donkey Kong Country 2 : Diddy’s Kong Quest

She is Diddy Kong’s girlfriend and Tiny Kong’s elder sister. She also have two cousins, Chunky Kong and Kiddy Kong. After accomponied Diddy Kong in Donkey Kong Country 2 : Diddy’s Kong Quest, she become main playable characters in Donkey Kong Country 3 : Dixie Kong’s Double Trouble. With Kiddie Kong, he must save Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong from King K. Rool. She become the first female playable character in Donkey Kong series. Her hair can create Helicopter Twirl to make her stay in the air for longer time.

Candy Kong

First Appearance : Donkey Kong Country

Candy Kong is Donkey Kong’s girlfriend. Her first appearance is at Donkey Kong Country. She usually stand on Save Point that allowed players to save their game. She was the first female Kong characters in Donkey Kong series. After appear in Donkey Kong Country series, she also appear to provide instrument in Donkey Kong 64.

Kiddie Kong

First Appearance : Donkey Kong Country 3 : Dixie Kong’s Double Trouble

Kiddy Kong is the youngest member of the Kong Family. He is the second playable character in Donkey Kong Country 3. With his cousin, Dixie Kong, he doing adventures in search of the missing Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong. He has great strength and is able to throw Dixie high up in the sky. Despite this he can bounce on water, which somewhat compliments Dixie’s Helicopter Twirl. When defeated, he pounds the ground with his fists and cries loudly.

Wrinkly Kong

First Appearance : Donkey Kong Country 2 : Diddy’s Kong Quest

Wrinkly Kong is the wife of Cranky Kong and mother of Donkey Kong. Wrinkly Kong is an intelligent Kong. Regardless of her death, her spirit continues participating in games, and aiding Donkey Kongs to defeat King K. Rool. She appears in most of Donkey Kong games but not as playable characters. She provides information or hints (similar to what Cranky Kong doing).

Funky Kong

First Appreance : Donkey Kong Country

Like the name, Funky Kong is a kong who have eccentric outlook. He always wear a glass and headband. He is one of Donkey Kong‘s best friends who usually offering some service (usually related to airplane) to his friends. Unlike most of his friends, Funky Kong doesn’t like adventuring. His hobby include such things as surfing and building various machinery such as vechiels and weapons.

Swanky Kong

First Appearance : Donkey Kong Country 2 : Diddy’s Kong Quest

Rich member of the Kong Family who usually hosts game-shows and other types of money making competitions. His first appearance is on Donkey Kong Country 2. Swanky give several quizzes in every area about the game.

Chunky Kong

First Appearance : Donkey Kong 64

Chunky Kong is a new character created after Donkey Kong Country series. He is the elder brother of Kiddy Kong and the cousin of Donkey Kong. He is the strongest of the Kong Family but is somewhat meek. In Donkey Kong 64, he is one of the Kongs captured by the Kremling Krew at start of the game. Despite his big body, he acts somewhat cowardly and childlish. He also doesn’t like heights.

Tiny Kong

First Appearance : Donkey Kong 64

Tiny Kong is Dixie Kong’s younger sister. She is also the cousin of Kiddy Kong and Chunky Kong. She is known for being both nimble and fast, and using her two Ponytails to accomplish different tasks. With only a few exceptions, she is playable in every game in which she appears.

Lanky Kong

First Appearance : Donkey Kong 64

Lanky Kong is a wacky looking orange Sumatran Orangutan who is a distant cousin of Kong family. He is one of many Kong captured by Kremling Krew in Donkey Kong 64.

King K. Rool

First Appearance : Donkey Kong Country

King K. Rool is an crocodilian who is the main villain of the series. He is the psychopathic king of the Kremlings who constantly antagonizes the Kongs and steals Donkey Kong’s banana hoard. His most distinguishing features are the tic in his left eye and his golden belly. In King K. Rool’s most common appearance, he wears a red cape and a gold crown, but he is fond of adopting many other looks and costumes as well.

Animal Buddies

Animal Buddies already appeared since Donkey Kong Country game. Gray colored rhinoceros that become first animal buddy that Donkey Kong found for the first time in Donkey Kong Country game. Rambi attack anything on his front by his horn. Rambi also can jump on enemies that Donkey Kong and his friends can’t

Enguarde

First Appearance : Donkey Kong Country

With Squawks, Enguarde is animal buddy that has the most playable appearances in Donkey Kong Country series. Enguarde is great swimmers and his pointed bill can be used to attack his enemy in the water.

Squawks

First Appearance : Donkey Kong Country

Squawks is one of the most appearances animal buddy in Donkey Kong Country. Squawks is not a playable animal buddy. He first appear in Torchlight Trouble level on Donkey kong Country. He helps Donkey Kong see ahead of dark level by bringing a bright lantern to lights up surrounding area.

Expresso

First Appearance : Donkey Kong Country

Expresso is a large ostrich who wearing sneakers on his foot. Expresso can run at fast speeds and glide through the air by flapping his wings rapidly. Not like the other animal buddies, Expresso can’t attack enemies meaning he has no way to defend himself against threats.

Winky

First Appearance : Donkey Kong Country

Since he is a frog, Winky can jump extremely high. He can also defeat enemies that Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong cannot defeat. Additionally, Winky is one of Cranky Kong’s favorite animal buddies along with Expresso the Ostrich.

Glimmer

First Appearance : Donkey Kong Country 2 : Diddy’s Kong Quest

Glimmer is a brown anglerfish living in one of the island’s sunken ships in the Krem Quay. Glimmer appears in one level on Donkey Kong 2: Diddy’s Kong Quest. In that level, he aids Diddy Kong and Dixie Kong go through the oily black water using the bright light attached to his head. Glimmer cannot be harmed by enemies and follow behind Diddy Kong and Dixie Kong.

Clapper

First Appearance : Donkey Kong Country 2 : Diddy’s Kong Quest

Clapper is seal Animal Buddy who appear in the Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy’s Kong Quest. If the Kongs jump on him, he will cool down the water with his breath. Using his breath, he can cool down the boiling hot water or freeze water.

Rattly

First Appearance : Donkey Kong Country 2 : Diddy’s Kong Quest

Rattly is a large green and red ringed snake whose body is coiled, allowing him to jump high through the air like a spring. Rattly is allied with the Kongs and is described as “rebelling” against Kremling Krew. With his superb jumping ability, Rattly would allow the Kongs to reach high areas normally unreachable by them. Additionally, Rattly can jump on enemies that Diddy and Dixie wouldn’t normally jump on (ex : Zingers and Spinies).

Squitter

First Appearance : Donkey Kong Country 2 : Diddy’s Kong Quest

A large spider with orange and black fur who possesses the ability to fire webbing from his mouth. The webbing will either act as a projectile that can hurt enemies or become floating platforms that can be used to reach high areas. However, he cannot jump on enemies. His jumping is inferior to the Kongs, but his ability to make plaforms by his webs make Squitter an important animal buddy in the game.

Ellie

First Appearance : Donkey Kong Country 3 : Dixie Kong’s Double Trouble

Ellie is the first Animal Buddy known to be female in Donkey Kong series. She can carry barrels and pulling them in from a distance. He also can collect water in her trunk so she can shoot it later at the enemies.

Parry

First Appearance : Donkey Kong Country 3 : Dixie Kong’s Double Trouble

Parry only appears in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong’s Double Trouble!. He is not rideable Animal Buddy, but he can move parallel to Kiddy and Dixie Kong’s moves and grabs any item he hits. This ability making him a wonderful tool to help Kongs collects item.

Quawk

First Appearance : Donkey Kong Country 3 : Dixie Kong’s Double Trouble

Quawks the Parrot is a purple parrot that appeared in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong’s Double Trouble. He have phsyical perfomance that similar with Squawks, but different color. Unlike Squawks, Quawks does not have the ability of spitting eggs at enemies, but he can use his claws to pick up barrels and drop them on the ground to hit enemies.

Hoofer

First Appearance : Donkey Kong Jungle Beat

Hoofer is large black Wildebeest with yellow hair on his back. He is found on ice level on Donkey Kong Jungle Beat. Hoofer has abilities similart to Rambi from Donkey Kong Country. This wildebeest can crush anything in his front with ease.

Helibird

First Appearance : Donkey Kong Jungle Beat

The Helibird Parrots are a species who found in Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat. They are a group of birds that work like helicopters, carrying Donkey Kong to higher places. They appear frequently throughout the game, mostly in tree areas.

Orco

First Appearance : Donkey Kong Jungle Beat

Orco (previously known as Shachee in Europe) is a large blue killer whale found simply wandering around aimlessly. Donkey Kong can come up to Orco and grab on to its dorsal fin to ride her. Like Enguarde the Swordfish, Orco can smash through anything on her front. She can also leap out of the water and reach extreme heights.

Flurl

First Appearance : Donkey Kong Jungle Beat

Flurl the Squirrel (previously known as Ressar in Europe) is a red, lazy squirrel who usually be found sleeping in a tree. If Donkey Kong can grab Flurl’s tail, he will use Flurl like a parachute and glide through the air, which can allow Donkey Kong to collect airborne beats and reach new areas that are normally unreachable without him.

The Playstation 4 (PS4) is an upcoming video game console that will be released by Sony Computer Entertainment in the fourth quarter of 2013. Like what usually happen when there is a new generation video game console that come out, all giant video game developers such as Ubisoft, Capcom, Square Enix and Blizzard also develop their new video game title for Playstation 4. In the modern of video game industry, good gameplay and high quality graphic are two most important factor by every game developers. If you want to know what kind of game that will come out on Playstation 4. Here are 11 of first games that estimated will be come out as the first game for Playstation 4.

1. Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag

This is the sequel of the popular stealth action open world game, Assasin Creed’s III. Developed by Ubisoft, the game will feature three main cities : Havana, Kingston, and Nassau, which reside under Spanish, English and pirate influence respectively. The game of course will feature the improvement of graphic engine using the advanced hardware specification of Playstation 4. The new Assasin’s Creed will give the player more freedom to explore various places from jungles, forts, ruins and small villages.

2. Battlefield 4

 Along with Call of Duty series, Battlefield series is one of the most popular FPS franchise in games industry. And this will be the sequel of Battlefield 3. One of most powerful advantage of Battlefield game is the stunning graphic engine and  a very realistic environment detail. In Battlefield 4, you will control as Recker, a member of Tombstone squad. The Gameplay Reveal trailer shows excerpts from the mission “Fishing in Baku”. The trailer hints that the campaign will also occur in China.

3. Deep Down

This is will be the first Capcom games on Playstation 4. Deep Down was still a splendid looking piece of computer animation. Many people speculate that this is the sequel of Dragon’s Dogma. It’s possible, but according to Capcom, Deep Down is definitely not a continuation of an existing series. The game is a RPG game that set in medieval period.

4. Driveclub

Usually, the first racing game that come out for new generation of Playstation is Grand Turismo. But this time, Driveclub will be become the first racing game for Playstation 4. Developed by Evolution Studios, this game is about supercar racing game. This game was first introduced in Playstation Meeting 2013. The quality of the graphic of the game is quite awesome.

5. Diablo 3

One of Blizzard’s popular game that just come out last year, Diablo 3 is also developed for Playstation 4. The interesting part is PS4′s Diablo 3 will feature slit screen mode that support 4 players to play the game simultaneously in co-operative mode. It’s will be similar to play Public Game in PC. Even there is no teaser about PS4′s Diablo 3, Blizzard will reveal some of the information about the game in PAX East event that will be held next month in Boston.

6. Final Fantasy XV

Final Fantasy series is one of reason why a lot of people choose to buy Playstation every time new generation game console come out. This is the game that usually only come out only for Playstation. And for Playstation 4, it will be the fifteenth Final Fantasy games. Square Enix has remained silent about the existence of Final Fantasy XV, though one rumor is that as of July 2012, the game had been in development for over four years. The trailer itself only show the movie of the game (not gameplay). Square Enix is rumored will be reveal about the new Final Fantasy in E3 event on June this year along with the release of Playstation 4.

7. Killzone : Shadow Fall

This is the sequel of Playstation 3′s Killzone 3 and will become the fourth game of Killzone series that come out for console. Developed by Guerilla Games, the game will set 30 years after the events of Killzone 3. The game is about the war in fictional city named Vecta City in 2381. The game was first introduced during Plystation Meeting 2013 and as we can see from the trailer, it obviously very accentuate the quality of the graphics. It will be interesting to see how powerful the Playstation 4 hardware can support the graphic engine of this game.

8. Infamous : Second Sun

This is third game of Infamous series. Like in the previous Infamous game, you play as a young man with electrical superpowers who must decide his own destiny of becoming either good or evil. The new game will features Delsin Rowe as a new protagonist, and based after the events with Cole McGrath and the Beast from first two titles. The game is to be set in Seattle city.

9. Destiny

Developed by Bungie (Developer that created Halo series), the game will be a first-person shooter open world in a mythic science fiction setting. The game has been described as an multiplayer online first person game. The player can customize their own character in the game. In this game, you will play as the a soldier that have to protect earth from alien. Using the  Bungie’s gameplay engine, which has adapted from Halo series, this game hopefully can create a more natural experience and competitive multiplayer modes gameplay.

10. Knack

Slightly different with other new generation console games, the design of the game is not set in the realistic world. The game was developed by Japan Studio and was first announced during Playstation Meeting 2013. In this game, you will play as Knack, a creature with mysterious power that must face the resurgent species known as Goblins to protect mankind. Sony describes the gameplay as “a little bit like Crash Bandicoot and Katamari Damacy, with a touch of God of War.

11. Watch Dog

For fans of open world action adventure game such as Grand Theft Auto or Sleeping Dogs, this title will be the one that must awaited game for PS4. Developed by Ubisoft, this game is designed to “go beyond the limits of today’s open world games”. In this game, players will control a man named Aiden Pearce, a highly skilled hacker who can explore the open world that created based on Chicago, Illinois city. By using his hacker skill, he can hack into several data to solve several objectives. This game was first introduced in Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2012. Combat mode in the game combine stealth components and parkour, along with the mechanics of a cover-based third-person shooter.

If other tennis players just depend on their beauty to be popular outside the tennis, Maria Sharapova can also reach a good achievement in field too. She had been number 1 female tennis player in the world, even not in a long period. That make me always follow her news in newspaper, and i really hate when she has to face Serena Williams in the Tennis Competition final. It’s because, she always lose to Serena. I finally bought a new gadget yesterday.  And my choice fall to Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 (P3100). Actually i have waiting so long to buy this Android gadget. I usually use Blackberry, iPad and iPod Touch (the last 2 gadget were not mine, i borrowed them from my brother and my girlfriends). Honestly, i was the great fans of Apple. But as the development going in recent years, i start to lose faith on Apple technology. After i tried my brother’s Samsung Galaxy S3, i have to admit that Andorid has a lot of better user experiences than iOS. That’s why for now, i prefer android gadget than Apple gadget that using iOS. Because there are a lot of Android gadget out there, it’s not an easy thing to choose between them. It’s not like Apple that only have 3-5 products in the market. But the news often mentioned that Samsung is the best selling gadget brands in the worlds for now. So my choice goes to Samsung. The next question was which Samsung product i want to buy? Beside Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, there are Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3 Mini, Galaxy Grand and Galaxy Note. Each products has their own advantage and disadvantage. Because i looking for a gadget that have larger screen size, then my choice narrowed into 2 products, between Galaxy Tab 2 and Galaxy Note 8.0. Finally, i choosed Galaxy Tab 2, because it’s far more cheaper than Galaxy Note, and i think 7.0 screen size is the most suitable one for me.

It’s really fun have Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 as my new gadget. I frequently use this product to read some ebook and books. I also can watch some movies, play some music and play some games from it.

After tried it for 1 day, i will try to write some little review about this product. Overall, i am very satisfied with this product. What makes me love about Android is because its flexibility and compatibility with other account. Below i write some of features that that make Samsung Android is much better than Apple Gadget (iPhone, iPad, iPod) :

1. Contacts

The first is about the  contacts. I was suprised when i just finish installed LINE Messenger and found out that all my friends already in the Contacts. It’s really cool. Other OS can do that. In iOS and Blackberry OS, you have to add all your contacts manually (one by one) if you just buy a new gadget. In Android, all you need to do is just login to your Google and Facebook account and all your contacts will suddenly appear in your android gadget.

2. Flexibility

Compared to Apple’s gadget, i prefer Android much much more. It’s really not easy to copy files from your iPhone to your computer, because you have to use iTunes to synchronize the files. But, Android is really different story. Plug the android gadget into your computer is like plug the USB Flash Disk into your computer. The gadget will appear on your computer like a removeable drive, and you can copy, rename, delete any files you want. The only drawback from this gadget is it’s not detected in my Mac OS X (it’s maybe because Apple and Samsung hate each other), so i have to enter Windows XP via Parallel Desktop make the android detected in my Computer.

3. Desktop

This is the great features that iOS doesn’t have (even in newest iOS). Having desktop is like have having a table in your office. You can put all your most used application and widget in the desktop. I can even add some news widget, so i can follow every news without open the application first. This is one of the most useful feature in Android.

 4. Screen Size

The reason why i choose Samsung Galaxy Tab is because of its screen. It has 7 inch screen that is very suitable for me who love to read book and read the news in gadget. 7 inch screen also very good to watch movie.

5.  SD Card Slot

One of many advantages Samsung gadget compared to Apple Gadget is the SD Card Slot. In Apple Gadget, you can’t add additional data storage if you feel the data storage in the gadget is not enough.

6. Macromedia Flash Support

The conflict between Apple and Macromedia make the Apple Gadget prohibit the Macromedia Flash support on their gadget. This make us who visit website that using Flash can’t be opened properly on Apple gadget.

7. Better Multimedia Experience

In Multimedia aspect, Android is better than Apple iOS. The reason why i said this because the flexibility. It’s kinda hard to copy songs or movies between friends who are using Apple iOS. In Android, you just plug the gadget and you can copy the files like you plug your hard drive to your computer. Beside that, you can’t only open MP4 files for movies in Apple iOS. So you have to convert the movies in MP4 files, before you can watch it on your Apple smartphone. In android, you don’t need to do that. You can open any format movies files using free MX Player software in Google Play Store.

About two months ago, i have problem with the hosting server i use. Because i have an e-commerce website that have more than 2000 products, it seems have great impact on the hosting server. The result is, the hosting company blocked the access to my website. When i asked to the hosting company customer service, they said that my website has use a great amount of process that impact their CPU usage, so they must block the access to all my website. It’s pretty disappointing knowing that the problem comes only from one website, but the hosting company closed all my website. Because of this, i decide to move my website to new hosting server. Moving a website from one hosting server to another without changing its domain address is very easy. Today i will give you a step by step guide how to move a wordpress website to another hosting server.

The main idea to move a wordpress website to another server is consist two important step which are :

- Move all files from old hosting server to new hosting server 

- Back-up wordpress database, and restore it in the new hosting server

 

Okay, to make it’s more easy to understand, below is the detail of several step you have to do :

1. Login to your old website hosting server CPanel

2. The first to do is move all files from your old hosting server to your computer. I recommend you to compress the files first, before you download it to your computer. If you have really large amount of files, i suggest you to compress it in several files.

3. To compress the files, just click on File Manager and click Ok

4. Click Select all to select all files in your website folder

5. Click Compress and wait until it finished.

6. Download the compressed file into your computer using File Manager or FTP

7. The next step is upload the file to new hosting server and extract it through File Manager on your new hosting server CPanel.

7. File copy process has finished. Now the next step is backup wordpress database and restore it in new hosting server.

8. Find the database you use for your website in the left column

To know what is the name of database for your website, just back to file manager and find wp-config.php in the folder of your website.

Right click on wp-config.php and click View.

In wp-config, you can check the database name in the beginning of the file, search for define(‘DB_NAME’ text and you will find your database name.

9. Back to your phpMyAdmin and  click the database name like what you see in wp-config. Click Export to start exporting database and download it to your computer.

10. A SQL file will be downloaded to your computer. Once it finished, you can now login to your new hosting server CPanel.

11. Click PhpMyAdmin in new hosting server CPanel.

12. Click Import.

13. After the import process finish, make sure to check wp-config.php in File Manager. Make sure to match the DB_NAME with database name you just import.

My relationship with my girlfriend finally over. Several days ago, she contact me via BBM when she still in China. At first, she ask me about what i want to talk about when she go home to Indonesia, as i ask her couple of times what date she would go home to Indonesia. Actually, i have not been talking with her since last March this year. I didn’t know the reason, why she changes so much since she go back from China on the beginning of the year. When she chat with me through BBM, she only say that she’s not happy with our relationship. And if she’s not happy, how can i be happy with her. When i ask the reason why she’s not happy, she just reply that she actually didn’t have any feeling with me since beginning. OMG…. i just shocked. How come, she so easily said that. Why she have relationship with me for 2.5 years if she never love me at all. I really feel hurt, when she said that. I ever really love a girl 8 years ago, and she also said the same thing. And it’s like de javu, but it’s like in higher dosage of pain. Hufff…. when i just recall my memory again, and i just realize that she ever said that why a girl have to do something for his boyfriend. She said that having a relationship doesn’t have to make any effort for their mate. So it’s true that she never love me, that’s why we can get this relationship to become more serious.

What really hurts me, that since we don’t have any contacts since last march, she suddenly become totally different person. She never contact me again, and she reluctantly reply my message when i try to text her. I feel likes she avoided me intentionally. I don’t why this can happen, maybe she already have someone else she love. When we broke up, she also asked her friends to not have a contact with me (means that she don’t want i try to find out about her again. And it’s mean she don’t want to  have contact with me at all). When i ask her personally about how her condition right now, she said that why i bother to care about what she doing, with whom she is now. For me, how she treat me now is really really mean. It’s feel like, she treat me like an enemy. Having relationship for 2.5 years seems doesn’t mean anything for her. This really… really… hurt me. After her explanation that time, i decide to agree to what she want. I delete all of her contacts including phone number, BBM, Facebook, many other social media connections and other messenger contacts. I will never…. never… contact her again !!!!

But after all of this, i don’t want to hate her. I still love and care about her and really wish and pray sincerely that she find better boyfriends and live happily as she want. Having relationship with her teach me a lot of thing. Several years ago, i can’t really like a girl. The reason is i feel  girls seems didn’t match with me, because i didn’t find something interesting inside of those girls. I try to find something that seems doesn’t exist. Have a relationship with my girlfriend make me learn that the most important of a girl is not she beautiful and easy to talk to. The most important of find a girl for our lifetime partner is the girl who have a good basic nature and attitude. That’s make me realize how dump i am, that a lot of kind girls love me in the past, but i couldn’t open my heart for them. What i have to do now is continue my life again. I am sure that this broken heart will heal again with time. I just don’t know how much time i need to recover, but i am sure God give me this experiences to make me learn something about life.

Map application is very important for me, especially because i love traveling. So Maps is a must have application, when i plan to travel to another city / country i barely know. Since i always use Google Maps, i already familiar with all Google Maps features. Even i a little bit disappointed with new Google Maps (because some features has been removed), but so far it’s still the best maps application i can use for now. Since my brother bought a iPhone 4 couple weeks ago, i have a chance to compare Apple Maps vs Google Maps when i using it in my country, Indonesia. Okay, like i already estimate, Apple Maps still don’t have a chance to beat Google for this matter. Apple Maps arguably still very far inferior to Google Maps. Google Maps is better than Apple Maps in every aspects. Okay, to make this more obvious, i will discuss every aspects of both applications.

Map View Outlook

The first thing i want to compare is the overall map view outlook. As we can see that Apple Maps has better view, when we look at the map from far perspective. To compare, i pick the map of one of busiest area in second largest city in Indonesia, Surabaya. As we can see together, Apple Maps give us a very good perspective because it has an outline for mall (orange color) and has several dots for hotels around it. Compared to Google Maps, it doesn’t show any location at all when viewed on far perspective.

But if we see more closely, Google Maps actually show us why their maps is better than Apple’s. Google Maps show a more detail maps (there is a small road that connect Pemuda Street to Yos Sodarso Street), meanwhile you can’t find that road in Apple Maps.

For me detail location view in far perspective doesn’t give any benefit for Maps applications. I personally use Maps application more to search unknown place, find an address, or find a direction to go to a place. And for me, Google Maps still far more superior than Apple for this matter. Because when you zoom the maps more closely, you can see a lot of detail places on the street in Google Maps, but when you do that in Apple Maps, nothing happen (The view still the same like when you look at it from far).

The view of Apple Maps even worse when we try to see the map of small town, such as my hometown, Batu. There is lack of data in Apple Maps. So you really can’t use Apple Maps when traveling to small town in Indonesia.

Search Features

Talking about search features, Apple Maps search really don’t match Google Maps search. I try to search Loving Hut Vegetarian Restaurant in Surabaya, and Apple Maps only show keywords recommendations, meanwhile Google Maps offer the restaurant i really search in Surabaya. This of course help me save time when using Google Maps.

When we search a place in small town, Apple Maps even can’t find anything. The main problem of Apple Maps is lack of Maps data. I try to search a famous place in my hometown that i am sure everybody in Java island know, but Apple Maps give “No Result Found” result, while Google directly give the place i actually search for.

Route Planners Features

One of the most useful feature we can use in Maps is Route Planners features. Route Planners give us the directions to a place we want to go. I can’t try a public transport in my country, because there’s still lack of public transport we can use here. So the only option i can choose is the route by walking and by cars. Both Maps (Apple Maps and Google Maps) show a similar result. Apple Maps and Google Maps suggest 3 route alternatives when i try to go to Wonderland Resort. Both maps give good directions and step by step guide to help us know the directions even when we’re still driving.

Conclusion

Beside all other additional features, i can tell that Google Maps still far more better than Apple Maps. The most important thing that Apple Maps need so bad to compete equally with Google Maps is the data of the map itself. I think it’s really need time for Apple to complete all the data in every city around the world, while  Google Maps already one step ahead. While traveling, of course i really can depend on Google Maps even when I travel to small city. So i think Apple still has a lot of homeworks to do before they can claim themselves that they don’t need third-party applications for their iOS.

Tanggal 21 Oktober 2013 lalu, akhirnya Blackberry meluncurkan BBM untuk iPhone dan Android. Tapi ternyata di balik kabar baik tersebut, ada beberapa masalah bagi beberapa user yang ingin menggunakan BBM di Android, termasuk saya. Ada 2 masalah besar yang ada pada peluncuran BBM resmi ini, yaitu yang pertama adalah tidak compatiblenya BBM untuk perangkat tablet. Ini ditandai dengan tidak ditemukannnya BBM di Google Play Store pada produk-produk tablet seperti Galaxy Tab 2, Galaxy Note, dll. Bila kita memaksa untuk membuka BBM melalui http://bbm.com/android, maka akan ada tulisan “Your device isn’t compatible with this version“.

Sedangkan masalah kedua adalah muncul setelah kita berhasil menginstall BBM di Android kita. Masalah yang dihadapi adalah kita harus menunggu antrian bila ingin menggunakan BBM dengan ID baru. Saat kita masuk ke dalam halaman login BBM akan muncul tulisan “We’re holding your spot in line“.

Bagi yang menghadapi masalah-masalah di atas. Berikut langkah-langkah untuk mengatasinya :

1. Bagi yang Tablet-nya gak compatible dengan BBM (BBM tidak muncul di Play Store di Tablet anda). Bisa download di http://vendyxiao.com/download/bbm-installer.apk. Ini adalah installer untuk BBM versi 1.0.0.70 yang resmi diluncurkan oleh Blackberry.
2. Bagi yang mau punya ID baru, silahkan bikin ID Baru melalui website http://blackberryid.blackberry.com/. Ikuti langkahnya sampe konfirmasi email. Catet email dan password untuk ID Baru anda. Yang mau pake ID lama anda (pernah punya bb), skip aja langkah ini.
3. Install BBM di Android dari file bbm-installer.apk yang telah anda download sebelumnya
4. Buka BBM di Android anda.
5. Login awal pada program BBM android akan menanyakan email. Masukkan email lama anda (email dari account handphone BB anda). Bagi yang gak pernah punya BB, bisa pinjam email saudara atau temen yang pake BB (Gak perlu password, cuma emailnya doang). Ini hanya untuk bypass aja halaman “We’re holding your spot in line“.
6. Selanjutnya kita akan berhasil masuk ke halaman Sign In. Masukkan email dan password ID Barunya (yang mau pake ID lama juga bisa).
7. Selamat menggunakan BBM di Android
